STET, Sociedade Técnica de Equipamentos e Tractores, SA, has been Caterpillar’s exclusive and official representative in Portugal and Cape Verde since 1961.
We focus our activity on the marketing, rental, supply of parts and technical assistance for customers with machinery, generators and marine engines. We are a recognized partner in supplying and supporting our clients in such diverse sectors as: construction, quarrying, mining, agriculture, forestry, waste and scrap treatment, and projects involving the application of different terrestrial and marine energy supply solutions.
With headquarters in Prior Velho (on the outskirts of Lisbon), we have nationwide commercial coverage with the support of our branches in Lisbon, Porto, Beja, Azores (S. Miguel) and Cape Verde (Santiago Island). In addition to our branches, we also have dealerships in Viseu (Paulosauto) and Madeira (Tomiauto), marine agents and in-house mechanics.

Our history
SMEIA, SA holds the representation of Caterpillar®
Constitution of STET - Soc. Técnica de Equipamentos e Tractores, SA.
After separating the company SMEIA, and with the same Administration, it assumes the exclusive representation of Caterpillar® in Portugal and Cape Verde. Headquartered in Lisbon, STET rapidly expanded its commercial network through its own subsidiaries, dealers and Authorized Maritime Agents.
